About the program:We believe that everyone deserves fresh and healthy food! Volunteers participate in every aspect of the project, from seed to harvest.High school students participate in all seasons of the year, from preparing seeds and building beds to planting seeds - straight through to harvesting and putting the gardens to bed. Volunteers participate in every aspect of the project, from seed to harvest.High school students participate in all seasons of the year, from preparing seeds and building beds to planting seeds - straight through to harvesting and putting the gardens to bed. Activities include planting, composting, cultivating, harvesting, cleaning and prepping vegetables, and preparing organic produce for delivery to two local food pantries. Program Fees: Suggested Donation of $100-$500 per student to defray the costs to operate our F2FP Program.  Examples of how your donation helps: $100 covers seed costs, $250 covers food preparation, $500 covers transportation to and from area food pantries.  Donations can be made by credit card when you register or via check made payable to Friends of Holly Hill Farm, Attn: Farm to Food Pantry, 236 Jerusalem Road, Cohasset, MA 02025 (memo "F2FP + Name of Teen"). Friends of Holly Hill Farm is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization that relies on contributions from our community. 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM    Farm-to-Food Pantry - Teen Volunteer Program - SPRING 2023 - Farm-to-Food Pantry: 4/20/23 (thurs)
About the program:We believe that everyone deserves fresh and healthy food! The Farm-to-Food Pantry program (F2FTP) at Friends of Holly Hill Farm aims to make this happen via teen volunteers who plant, grow, and prepare organic vegetables and herbs for two local food pantries. Last year, we donated over 2,000 pounds of produce to these pantries!Volunteering has so many benefits - for the teens enrolled and for the community as a whole. Teens gain real-world experience, help solve real problems in the community, learn new skills, make new social connections, and expand their perspective too! The program also enables students to fulfill school-mandated community service hours with hands-on work on the farm too. Register today for our 9-week* Homeschool Sessions on the Farm! Spring is a season bursting with possibilities around the farm! Each age group will be led by 1-2 experienced farm educators through a fluid, yet structured schedule that may include reading a story, hands-on learning, farming, ecological experiences, games, crafts, and more.
